<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">The key to debt relief is to create a solid financial plan.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>A good financial plan will have long-term goals, and specific steps to get there.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>For example, as a teenager you may never think you can afford a car.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>However, if you take the time to calculate specifically how much a car costs, how much you can earn, and how much you can save it is easy to see that buying your own car is not an impossible task.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">The first thing you have to do to get out of debt is to change your thinking and your priorities.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Is it more important to you to be able to portray an image of success?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Or is it more important to actually be successful?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Drowning in credit card debt and being completely dependant on your day job is not my definition for success in my life.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>You need to figure out what success means to you.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Then, you need to stop getting into debt.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>You will see quickly that it is actually easier than you think to stop using credit.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>If you have to finance it, you cannot afford it!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>So, it may really suck that you do not have a car.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Look into public transportation.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Look into used cars.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>It is possible to do without.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>So do not use your credit cards for any reason – you do not need them!</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Then you need to pay off the debt you have.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>In order for this to happen, it needs to be a priority.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>There are things you will have to sacrifice in order to pay off your debt.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Maybe you need to cancel your internet for a year.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Could this money go towards your credit cards?</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Some people do not have the discipline or knowledge to make their own debt relief plan.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>If this is the case, you should consider meeting with a financial planner or a credit counselor.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>They will help you make a budget and financial plan for you.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">This is what I know for sure when it comes to debt relief.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>First of all, your happiness cannot be tied up in material things.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>If it is, you will never be able to stop spending.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Secondly, you have to have perspective on the big picture.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>You have to realize that saving $4 by not having a Starbucks can significantly impact your long term goals.</span></p>
